Most recently Kyle Wynen was the Co-CEO, Co-President, and Managing Editor of Gaming Union Inc., a video game news and reviews publication. Prior to co-founding Gaming Union, Kyle studied Media Fundamentals at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, followed by Broadcast Journalism at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. Over the course of his studies at Fanshawe College, Kyle geared his projects in the direction of the video game industry, and worked alongside a partner and a small team to co-found and develop the Gaming Union network of websites.
Shortly before successfully completing his first year of studies at Fanshawe, Kyle registered Gaming Union as a Sole Proprietorship in Ontario, which lead Kyle to postpone completing his studies at Fanshawe, in order to pursue the business. Gaming Union’s online network went on to receive 2.5 million visitors and 6 million page views under Kyle’s co-management in little over a year’s time.
In early 2010 Kyle and Gaming Union placed in the top 3 in a London, Ontario business plan competition called Venture London. Following this Kyle successfully lead negotiations with a Canadian-based investment group to secure a six-figure investment deal, which lead to the incorporation of Gaming Union Inc. in the spring of 2010. In July of that year Kyle resigned from Gaming Union, and is now developing plans to establish a video game development studio in London, Ontario.
